Why do I write? I write to support knowledge, I write to offer support, I write to say ‘Do your thing’, I write to improve my writing and I write so that more than just my husband and kids might get some value from my musings. If you get some value from my words I’m glad.
In brief, I am a mother to two teenagers. Gen X/Y being an ‘81 baby. I’m not stupid enough to want to be ‘the cool mum’ but still apparently I’m pretty cool (thanks kids). This parenting gig is tough, it really is. You know what else is tough? The state of our world: environmentally, politically, societally. These are things I think about on the regular. This planet is suffering, on every level, but we can have impact and make a difference. I’m pretty opinionated but I also know that I’m in a situation where I have choice where others don’t. I have freedom to think and act how I do. Others don’t, whether that is because of financial means, lack of rights, threat to self, this is true for many. I acknowledge my privilege.
It didn’t need to be this way
